Who this service is for

Support that meets young people where they are.

Children and teenagers may not always have words for what they are feeling. Counselling can use developmentally appropriate conversation and activities to help a young person communicate and feel understood.

Panchami works with concerns including anxiety, school refusal, behavioural difficulties, emotional overwhelm and family change. The first conversation helps determine suitability and how parents or caregivers may be involved.

Contact ohM Therapy before booking a first appointment for a child or teenager so age, consent, safety and session arrangements can be discussed.

How counselling may help

A careful, collaborative beginning.

Age-aware

Sessions are adapted to the young person’s developmental stage, communication and comfort.

Family-informed

Parents and caregivers are included in a way that supports both safety and the young person’s therapeutic space.

Suitability first

An initial conversation clarifies the concern, consent, participants and the most appropriate next step.

Your first appointment

What happens first.

01

Beforehand

A parent or caregiver should first discuss the young person’s age, consent, main concern and who may need to attend. Avoid asking the young person to prepare a detailed account.

02

Start with context

The first appointment makes space for what is happening now, what matters to you and what you would like support with. You do not need to tell everything at once.

03

Choose the approach together

Panchami considers your goals, circumstances, preferences and pace when selecting evidence-based approaches. The plan is discussed with you rather than applied as a fixed program.
